I am not a user of either of these sites, so I want some opinions about this "cultural phenomena".

My kids have accounts there, and use them everyday. They say it's fun, but I wonder......

So, what's everyone think? We have a lot of U-tube stuff being posted now, and I do peruse it every once in a while, but I don't watch too much, simply because it reminds me of T.V., only worse sometimes.....

Seriously though, whats every one think? I need some words of wisdom.....

Once Upon A Time...... I hated myspace. But, I am literally all over the country, moving from one place to another. And I found that it's a great way to keep in touch with old friends and even new friends. It's also great, if you're not good at making websites, you can easily make you're own and advertise your clothing, inks and even tat flash.

Youtube, I haven't really been to interested in, till recently. It's huge, and you're more than likely going to find what you're looking for.

Well, firstly, YouTube and MySpace are two different types of sites.

YouTube is a media website, with movie clips and the likes. MySpace is a social networking website like Facebook, its just not nearly as popular anymore -- generally all the 12 year old emo girls use MySpace :P

My point, is that you can;t group these two in one category for a poll... Personally, I hate MySpace, but I use YouTube on a regular basis. Its helpful in many situations i find. They're two different kinds of websites, one media, one social, so i dont think this poll is designed in the best way. just my .02 though

I get quite a bit of use out of youtube,ded. Got music as well as video available, and there's plenty of both
BTW, I chose the last option

I use both Myspace and Youtube daily. Wonderful sites, If you haven't taken advantage of them (or similiar sites) your missing out. Both of them, unique in their own way, have revolutionized the internet.

I picked the last option.

Terrible, yet typical, 'stereotype' of the myspace user. So all those 150 million+ ( a quarter of a million new users a day ) users are 12 year old female 'emos'?

People hate what they don't understand. Myspace is my case in point. I can't think of a single website I 'hate'... why would you 'hate' a website? It's not like anyone is forcing you to visit it or even think about it...

They are two entirely different websites, but I find both of them useful...

Youtube is amazing in my opinion. You can find anything you're looking for. There's not just junk on there Ded, you can find a lot of educational stuff too. I have learned a lot of stuff because of youtube...


This is not true. I don't go on it nearly as much as I used to, but there are a TON of adults that use myspace. It's not just social networking. There are also groups where you can find like-minded people and discuss topics (like mj.com). You can also listen to music for free which is great. I've discovered a lot of great bands (that are not in the spotlight) because of myspace.

Fair enough. I failed to realize that many older folks use MySpace. I actually just remembered hearing a story about some guys over in Iraq and Afghanistan using it to stay connected.

I kind of figured you didn't really understand. YouTube is awesome, so much cool stuff on there. MySpace just isn't for me, I prefer Facebook in a social community... But apparently thats just me!

Hey racin, I understood you just fine.....

You said you hated MySpace. I can take this two ways I suppose. One, you feel that way because it's true, or two, you had a bad personal experience maybe, and I should judge for myself about it..... That sound about right?

My kids like it because all their friends are on there to talk to....Plus, they are both boys and they say there are some hot chicks on there.......

I appreciate all the opinions....keep 'em coming.......
