I was always pretty curious about cannabis, and illegal drugs in general. Ever since in third grade, when we had our "mini-DARE" I was fascinated. When we had the real DARE in 5th grade and 7th grade, I would look foward to coming to school. I thought drugs were bad, but I just thought they were fascinating.

Almost as soon as I was old enough to scope out my own dealer and arrange my own deal, I did it. The first bag was pretty scary. I remember getting home looking at it, and I got a rush. I was like "an illegal drug!!!!!"

I ended up throwing that bag away because I was too affraid to smoke it by myself. About a week later, i repeated the process, but I ended up getting high. I had a fun time....

i was 12yrs old, the summer i turned, and i had tryed it before but i took one hit and i didnt inhale any way my friend came up to me saying he wanted to smoke and it was his first time. so i said lets roll a jay! we rolled it and got preety high(master kush from our dealer's house) and we have been pot heads ever since(8 yrs)

For the first 17 years of my life I just thought drugs were bad. I didn't distinguish between marijuana or any other drug. I guess I never even thought about drugs. Then I started talking to a kid in my class that everyone knew smoked and he even talked sometimes about it. It changed my perspective on pot. I also knew a friend of mine smoked. So me and a friend got some from him and tried it. I had no idea what to expect the first time and i was nervous and excited. Well neither of us got high and I just fell asleep. Now I like to get high cause it feels good.

I first smoked marijuana in the spring of 1977, just cuz. On January 3, 1982 I quit. For about 22 yrs i was totally against "drugs", even took a couple years of Addictionology. Around 1998 a friend of my wife came over with her husband, he asked if I wanted to smoke a joint. After some consideration, I agreed. I found that it eased my physical pains, made my headache go away, (have one since 1978 when I rolled a van). Been smoking since. Great pain managment, and the side effects are fun.

My story is pretty whack.


I never really knew much about drugs i thought they were all bad from watching those commercials as a kid. Then when i was 14 I started hanging around with people that smoked weed. And i planned on trying it cause i thought i would look cool if I could say "yay, i smoked once" (pretty whack). I planned on smoking, but not getting high because i was afraid.

Then that one day changed my life forever. It was on the spring of 2007, two of my friends filled up a balloon with freon (air conditioning gas) which is an inhalant. I didnt wanna do it, but i fell under peer pressure and i got HIGH. It was nothing like I ever experienced before. I loved it, it took me out or reality. I knew better now, freon can kill you, weed is much safer.

After that I really wanted to try pot, so a couple weeks later my friend smoked me up. We smoked out of a bowl and I had some trouble inhaling it, but i still got high and it was great.

the first time i tried smoking weed was when i was 13. i tried it because i had nothing better to do that day, and i knew that trying it once wasnt going to hurt me. i didnt get high my first time, but i really enjoyed the flavor of the smoke, so i decided to smoke again.

the next time was about a week later, and i got extremely high and thought to myself, "this is the coolest thing ever".

I looked the part about a year before I actually 'plunged my lungs' for the first time.

I worked for a guy at the swap-meet. It was the coolest gig ever! He sold incense, posters, black lights, stickers...and I had it all! My walls were covered with the coolest posters and art...and it all had marijuana related theme. I guess I knew I'd eventually smoke...but I was a bit frightened.

I remember 'Reefer Madness', and all those other propoganda movies...and they just made me curious. Scared sure...but VERY curious!

So after about a year of looking the part, I delved into the lifestyle of the marijuana smoker in a big way! I KNEW it was something I'd probably never wanna be without. So in the 36 years of tokin' up...I've still got the 'taste' for the good herb!

You were at that show too justapoman? I remember now...you were wearing tye-dye and bell bottom trousers, right? Those were the days, huh?
