| I have a Hawking HWR54G wireless router that I forgot the WEP key too, so I can't log into to anything How do I reset it or reinstall it and start over. I don't have to buy a new do I. I had my previous PSP hooked up to it and using it, but I sold it and now I have a new one and I don't have the access key. I recently bought a new pc with vista, but my routers web page interface keeps asking me for password and user.

| There should be a reset button that you have to hold in with a pin or something on your router. Some of them you just have to press it, but some others you have to hold down that button. Once you do, your lights will probably all blink or turn off and back on, and your router will be set back to it's original default settings.

| Fortunately, every version of this router resets the same way. 1. Power Off. 2. Hold the Reset Button down while you Power On. 3. Keep holding the Reset Button for a few seconds, until the POWER LED has flashes YELLOW. 4. Release the Reset Button. The Wireless Router is now using the factory default values. Next time, keep your login info and WEP key handy...I can understand losing the WEP key, but anyone who manages a router should at least be able to know how to access it. |

| Power Off the PC or the Router, I pressed the re-set last night, disconnected the cables and everything(But I didn't power down my PC) but when I went back to the web page it still asked me for the password. I'll power of the PC and try several different ways and look for the power LED to flash Yellow. Thanks a ton guys. Gota get the ATV:Blazing Trails on Line. ![]() |

| Well, when you reset it, the WEP key goes back to default. Which you still dont know right? So wouldn't you have to go to your ISP's options page and reset the wep key to what you want it to be? I'm not sure, it's been A WHILE since I've messed with my router. |

| The WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) key has nothing to do with the ISP. It's the key your wireless devices use to access your router. WEP encrypts the communications between your wireless device and the router. With every router I've ever seen, when you reset the machine the default is no encryption and, therefore, no WEP key.
