| Ok, heres the scenario....I got home this morning after work, and my DVR was fried....everything had a grid of yellow blocks over it. After trying a reset signal from the provider, they determined I needed a tach to come over. AS you all know, I work overnights. That means, typically, I'm in bed by 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I reinterared to the customer service rep SEVERAL times that if they couldn't get someone there by 1, I'd rather they wait til the next day, that my service restoration wasn't as important as me getting some decent sleep. Lo and behold, 2PM, my phone rings. I ignore it, because, well....I didn't want to talk to anyone as I was getting ready to crash. I hear my voicemail thingy beep, so I check my messages....a service technician informing me "he was on his way, and will see me when he gets there" At this point, i was already pretty annoyed, but whatever.....he proceeds to run a thousand tests, replace every inch of cable that wasn't buried, etc....only to tell me what I feared was the case all along. My DVR was SHOT....third one in less than a year that I've lost all content on and had to reprogram to record like 30 series recordings, not to mention, the customer service tech who assured me I wouldn't get woken up or disturbed made absolutely NO notation ANYWHERE on my service order that it was to be done by 1 or to wait til the next day. It was after 4 by the time they left I'm seriously thinking about telling them to take their DVRs and shove them where the sun don't shine, becasue this is just getting to be rediculous. Dish network can beat my prgramming package by about 10 bucks, with more channels, including showtime, and skinamax is a penny for a year of service qwith a two year contract. I can also get a multi-room DVR, as opposed to only being able to access it on one tv with my current setup. Can anyone tell me why I SHOULDN'T do this? The only thing that may possioble prevent this is some MAJOR discounts from my cable provider. Their faulty equipment and shitty communication skills are getting to be too much hassle for what I'm paying them.
