I'm just like you. I don't want one. Because as soon as you get one, your boss wants that number and wants to be able to track you down no matter where you're at. My boss has "threatened" to buy one for me and put it on the company plan. I got a land line and if he wants to talk to me...he can leave his name and number and I'll get back as soon as possible.
I get the feeling I lose a little of my freedom when I can be located at a moments notice. Isn't kind of cool to just be able to "disappear" for awhile?

I do have to agree with that, because it seems like my phone and I just don't get a break. More often than not, my phone wakes me up in the morning ringing. It's on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I take my phone with me wherever I go, so if I'm at work the old lady is calling me bugging me about something, if I'm in one end of the warehouse I get called over to the other end, if I'm on the road headed to one place I'll get called and sent somewhere else. I think you get the point...

Needless to say, I've broken close to 20 phones just by getting tired of it ringing and tossing it down. For the longest time I would ONLY use the "indestructable" (yeah, right) Nextel phones. Now that I've got a fancy pants phone, I'm trying to treat it nice. When I get irritated with it ringing, I just forward all my calls to a landline that's an automated answering machine.

I take the free phone believe it or not it calls the same people as the expensive one, my kids however have a voyager and a dare. Makes no sense to me to have a phone that does more then most people will need it for it is almost as though this has become a status thing. But if it makes you happy why not

^ I know exactly what you mean, man. A few months back my company invested in cell phones to be used by the off-hours staff (me and a few others). The idea being that we carry them around with us during our shift but leave them at work when we're done, just so that we can always be reached. So it's not like I'm getting calls from work when I'm off the clock but it's still a pain in the ass.

I was irritated as hell when they first introduced them and though I'm still kind of irked by them now, you get used to it after a bit. I can't see myself running out and buying a phone for my personal life any time soon though. I don't care what other people do, but as for me, I just feel like a giant douche walking around with a cell phone. Phones and plans and all that? It's just a bunch of bullshit that I have no desire or need to participate in.

LG Voyager. I love it, everything's pretty much perfect. I only wish my battery lasted longer.

Well, I got the Storm. So far, mostly good. It's still a little bit buggy (accelerometer lag, application lag), but it's a good phone overall.

If anyone is considering getting one, I highly recommend it. However, I would wait until they come out with a software update.

I especially like that you have to actually "click" the screen to select something. It is pretty easy to get used to, only took me a couple days. I've been a Blackberry user for a while, and I really like this phone. And Verizon is great too, much better reception than T-Mobile.

can you explain the clicking concept to me? i found it odd haha
and how is the touch screen in general? is it similar to apples devices (only usable touch screens currently on the market IMO)?
