|  made a motorized bike when i was a young teen. used a weed eater motor. built a custom go-cart mid-teen, me and my dad built everything except for the motor. and that, we modified. a friend of mine and i built a r/c air boat out of some aluminum, the motor from an r/c plane and the electrical components from a broken car.
