As someone who really loves music I never thought I'd see the day when so much could be stored on so little as mp3 players do. After much much much debate as to what mp3 player to get that is best for the money, storage space, and features and it came down to the iRiver H120. I contemplated getting ipod for a while, but this thing got it beat hands down. Ipod just plays music and stores stuff while looking pretty. Well the iRiver can also record live via built in mic, record from other audio systems via optical cord, tune into FM stereo, and can do all this in a variety of audio formats (WAV, mp3, WMA, Ogg, ect..) and it has software for continual updates. The model I have has a 20gig storage capacity, which turns out to be like 18.5 gigs after they install their programs on it. It's great though and I'm so happy now that I can walk around with thousands of songs, a radio, and recorder all in my shirt pocket. The thing is the same size as iPod, just not as slick looking and without the touch screen. Sorry if this sounds like an ad for iRiver, but it's really cool and I'm stoned here after uploading 1500 songs onto it which I'm listening to right now. Heh. Technology can be so cool.

If your friend is already dead, and being eaten by vultures, I think it's okay to feed some bits of your friend to one of the vultures, to teach him to do some tricks. But only if you're serious about adopting the vulture.

My personal experience with SonicBlue/iRiver is that the cases aren't the
best. The posts for the screws will eventually break off and you'll be
supergluing your iRiver back together.

That said, I left mine to rust in a puddle of standing water for weeks and it
still works.

ive got a sony clie, with a 512 mb card and a flash memory card. i can put quite a bit of songs on it, it is a voice recorder, a flash player, play movies from your pc(such as porn and ne other vid) , it is a digi cam, a digital camcorder, a remote control for most ne tv,vcr,dvd player, and can hold all the info , numbers,addies,notes,to-dos and all that stuff...the remote thing is tight cuz if im in a resturant with a tv, i can raise the volume to piss people off, turn it on / off, do ne thing and people start going nuts..fun ****.

i have an ipod and it does kik ass...however i must recc. the dell Jukebox. It is sooo much cheaper, it was like 200 flat the other day, now its like 225. Its 15 GB and it has a really long battery and is ez to use, thats y i recc. my friend to get one. He got it and it kiks ass like i tought. It has the built in mic too. dell.com

That sony 512mb flash was another one I was looking at because of so many features, but the one I saw was like $499 and that's just too much for so little memory. I like the freedom of a harddrive based player. You don't need cards or disks of any kind, just a cable to hook up to your computer. The computer detects it just like another harddrive, so it's just drag and drop, easy management. I prefer the capacity overall, though. 20gb is like 4500 songs at a high bitrate. If i used just WMA format, I could get like twice that many songs. It's like a bigass jukebox at your fingertips.

I've had my 5gig ipod for 3 years now, and ive never had any troubles with it.. you can play songs for 10 hours on a full charged battery.

I have an ipod with linux installed on it. its barely playes mp3s, but its getting better. if it ripped them, it would be LAME, though ;-)
