| I recently bought a new modem. The manufactures of my MODEM (http://www.2wire.com/?p=8) say that the computer is automatically connected to the internet (DSL) 24/7 and other then the monitor there is no need to turn it off the computer, they said to either turn the computer on stand by or hibernation. I never tried this before but once herd peps say that hibernating or putting a computer on stand by or hibernation was dangerous and allowed Key Loggers (what ever that is supposed to mean) to hack into your computer. What is everybody’s opinion on this standby/ hibernation issue? I feel more secure now that I bought this new modem because it has a built in firewall, I would never attempted trying to hibernate the PC with the old one. |
