Inphase Technologies unveils holographic drive prototype Holographic data storage developer Inphase Technologies has launched the world's first prototype of a holographic storage drive. The prototype is the foundation for Inphase's family of Tapestry holographic drives, with data capacities that range from 200 GB to 1.6 TB on a single disk. Source Samsung Builds World's Biggest OLED TV Today's technology announcements typically involve smaller and smaller components, computers and other gadgets, but Samsung Latest News about Samsung this week touted the "world's largest" television based on organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology -- a 21-inch flat panel display. | crazy stuff..but youre links didnt really contain any more information than what you stated there. Very interesting stuff though, I cant ever imagine needing 1.6TB though, however Im sure video and game developers would love that kinda space, imagine what you could do with that, uncompressed video and audio would make for some really nice quality

| More like SUPERB quality. Remember watching HDTV, with HDTV channels. It's possibly the greatest thing ever, especially Football when drunk and Discovery when stoned. It's just fantastic to look at. Have you ever seen Madden's face in HDTV? It'll scare the hell out of you. A lion chase and whale jumping out of the water is one of the most entertaining things I've ever seen. HD-DVD isn't that much bigger than DVD's space wise. It's about 4.5 times bigger. It I would bet it's big of a difference though, in terms of quality. I'm geussing about 10 times more clarity. Now imagine a 50 times more space than HD-DVD. You could be able to see in such clarity, as if you were there! Crazy...sound could also be set at 10.1 channels surround, haha maybe more. I can't wait to see what the future beholds for my living room. |
