Anyone have any experience with this company? The local stereo shop is trying to sell me a Blaupunkt GTA4 amp, 2 Blaupunkt 12 in. subs, and a box all for 300 bucks. I'm very tempted to jump on it, as my new car is screaming at me daily to give it some bass......but I don't know alot about the company, and haven't dealt with this shop enough to buy on their recommendation alone. I've priced the GTA4 amp all over the net, and it seems 199 is the going rate, which means I'm basically getting 2 subs and a box for 100 bucks.....not bad, if the quality is there.

Blaupunkt used to be standard equipment on Mercedes. I'm not sure if it still is. It is a German company (actually a division of Bosch) and used to make some really nice products. I'm not sure how they stack up against some of the competition these days because there are soooo many companies out there. Also, my experience with them is limited to receivers not amps. One thing that Blaupunkt has been known for though is building solid and reliable equipment.

I decided to spend a bit extra, and go with what I know....getting a Rockford Fosgate 300x1 mono sub amp, and a Rockford PL1-112 12 in single sub enclosure. Rockfrod Fosgate products have always treated me well

North American spec Blaupunkt is SHIT compared to its Euro spec stuff. N.A. Blaupunkt sells at Walmart, doesnt hold up to very harsh elements, and really dont like to pound. You'll be FAR happier with that Rockford Fosgate stuff.

I figured as much.....I've had the same set of Rockford 8's in my truck for years now, and they are still going strong. i figured spending an extra bit of cash now would save me from spending more replacing a crappy system later
