| Boycott Starforce I am at war with them. Now, I have owned four games published with Starforce protecting them. Two from stores and two downloaded. Of the two games I've bought from stores (since '05), one I have still not got working and the other I had to wait until the company released a patch removing the Starforce protection systems from the game's files. Of the two that I discovered in the left field of my PC ventures, both are working. Without a hitch. And no; I didn't have to unplug my CD drives or disable any IDE/AT channels (or what-the-fuck-ever) - just simple, old school Daemon Tools. Starforce, for all the world, thinks that my emulation drive is legit. So, on this note, game publishesr: why? Why use this nutfuckingly screwball software to protect your games? It a) doesn't work, b) has been shown to damage OSs and CD drives (I believe) and c) causes the gamer untold additional stress and upset, even in those legitimate purchases. Whatever the case, for the time being: Hashishi - 3 , Starforce - 1 |
