| I'd ask this question at a forum devoted to car audio. You'll get opinions from people who are well-versed in car audio. $150-200 is not much to spend, to be honest. Also, considering we don't know what you have for a sound system in your ride already, it's difficult to simply say, "get this and this and this". It's more complex if you have the stock stereo than if you have an aftermarket one, for example. Basically, you're going to need an amplifier and the subwoofers in an enclosure. How to wire it up is dependent on a lot of things, none of which you've laid out.

| $150-$250 is alot of dough if I say so myself. So many people get all these new stereos and shti for their car but I have never touched mine and it sounds good enough. Plus, you can get alot of tree for the price! |

| In the world of car audio $250 is chicken feed. I have almost twice that in speakers alone. And no, I don't have 80 gazillion speakers all over the cab of my truck. 4 speakers and a single sub. Just like with pot... It's quality over quantity. |

| And unless you buy a powered sub (built in amp), which you're even less likely to get in that price range, you'll need an amp to drive it. Also, car sheet metal makes for a lousy speaker enclosure, so if you're not careful you'll just end up with a lot of distortion rattling your trunk. Google 'car audio forum' and you'll find some good places for info. Take your time and make the right decision. If you're too impatient you may buy something you end up regretting.

| for the money you want to spend you could get a decent subwoofer, i would go with a rockford fosgate punch, anything of less quality would be a waste of your money, and then you will need an amp, DO NOT GET A CHEAP ONE, if you decide to go out and get a pyramid amp then im sorry you dug yourself that hole, but sony has decent prices on their stuff but sony is not good i would only recommend one of their products, its their XM-1S amp, mono amp with 900 watts max, 290 RMS@2ohms and 500 RMS@4Ohms, it has the power to drive the fosgate but you realy need more watts but its a great amp to learn on now with those 2 suggestions i have already gone over your budget, its not a cheap hobby, cause after the woofer and amp your going to need a new head unit, then your going to need new speakers, after that your going to need to amp those speakers, to save money and stress build your own box, i made the mistake of buying one and i blew out about every wall of the box, a pain in my ass, then i had the woofer hooked up wrong and i fried the coil, stupid me, sucks for the guy who stole that worthless hunk of shit from my truck, and lock your doors |
