Oh yeah,have a question: would the fonts that i use now in winblows be used when iam on linux (have some l337 fonts ) and is GIMP really better than Photoshop (does it have filters,etc)
And finally, any suggestions for a install with winblows still on the system (iam planning on running both winblows and linux,winblows for games and linux for everything else)

Yea, you can install with both linux and windows on the machine its called a dual boot you just need to redo your partitions linux should come with instructions. Just ask if you need help, i can seem confusing at 1st.

Question: what if your HD has surface errors on it (had to go around them in order to install winblows during the last time i reformatted) and when you boot up on a dual boot set up does it go onto a command prompt or does it go into one of the OS's automaticly?

I should point out the Me realy does suck. I have it running on my system and hate it. I would install something else if I cared, but there are more important things in life than my OS.

Most distros of linux take you to a screan when you boot up each time that has an option of wheather to use windows or linux. Has for disk errors before you redo your partitions you will want to run a disk scan Start --> program files --> accessories --> system tools --> diskscan after you are done that you will want to do a disk defragmentation which can take several hours i recomend doing it while you sleep in the middle of the night to do this go to Start --> program files --> accessories --> system tools --> Disk Defragmentor after that is done all disk errors should be corrected and you will be able to make a new linux partition on your hard drive

Sweet,that what i was planning on doing after all. And another thing, does most linux distributions come with a default utilites programs (like scandisk,etc) and if it does is it any good? (right now iam running norton (kind of a mix blessing )
