Default Best file sharing software?

Ive recently bought a new computer and am looking to download some different programs compared to my old computer.

Currently Im using winMX as my file sharer, but kazaa is suits me more.
Is there something out there just as good?
Is kazaa lite just as good?
Any solutions on good spyware protection programs?
Any other recommended programs to keep my computer healthy?

For music I use Blubster and Soulseek. Blubster's apparently loaded with adware and ****, but I honestly don't notice anything. I scan and delete that stuff at least once a week, apparently it's working. Soulseek is good for rare tunes and stuff like that, but they're both just music.

Bit Torrent is my other program. Ad free, and you can get virtually anything off it. Faster in m opinion, and much much better for transfering large files, like DVDs and whatnot.

I occasionally use kazaa lite. Dude, don't put kazaa on your computer. There's an alternative that's identical but without the spy stuff, shy wouldn't you take advantage of that?

So Is kazaa the program used by the masses?
With Blubster and Bit Torrent combined will I have as many options and choice as kazza?

Im mostly looking to download music, music video and video files, and occasionly download random programs for free or other odd files.

Is it worth putting kazaa on my computer at all for all the hassle and problems it creates?
Is kazaa lite exactly like kazaa but without the spyware?

Sorry about all the qeustions

Check out Kazaa Lite K++, its really nice it allows you to jump ahead of those "real" kazaa users by "cheating", it also ofters a few good tools to protect yourself from the RIAA, it uses the (by far) largest P2P netowrk, which is the fast track network. And the best thing of all, it has no spyware or ads, unlike the "real" kazaa client by Sharman Networks. The only thing is it is getting hard to find because Sharman Networks complained about K++ to all the search engines and got it removed from the listings . If you want a P2P client that is easier to find, has no spyware, and that uses a lower profile network I would use emule, but honestly nothing beats K++.

If you want to get rid of spyware, it really is a process, no one program will get it all for you. I do recomend weekly or bi weekly scans using spybot and/or adaware, however once in a while you need to do a "hijack this" log, espescially if you notcie that IE is acting up.

Thumbs down

I used to use kazza lite but now, every song I've tried to dl had the most annoying feedback in it. Like it will start out fine, but thirty seconds into it I get scared as hell when the most annoying sound starts. I really wouldn't recommend kazza for any one anymore.

i use winmx now, never had any problems with it. it seems to me that there are more people there, because most files that are coming from someone with a good connection will have a whole lot people trying to download it. this causes a huge "line" for that song/file. this can be annoying, but there are so many different versions of the song, you'll be able to find one that you can dl as soon as you click on it

:edit: also, i haven't noticed any differences between kazza lite and kazza. the "homepage" is different i think, and of course there is no spyware, or what gator likes to call it "adware" if your going to use kazza, use kazza lite, or the version that psychological suggested, if you can find it.

From what I know, you can't get viruses from mp3's. and I don't dl regular files.

Am I right in my thinking that mp3's can't carry viruses?

Alot of the time people are tricky and name files somthing like good_song.mp3.exe to try and trick people . All P2P file sharing networks are plauged with virues so you do have to watch out for them, though I know k++ filters out bad file name so you don't really have to worry about it as much.

As for k++ and regular kazaa being the same, you should probably take another look, there are some huge differnces especially in the newest verison (k++), k++ having no lines is probably the best feature, k++ really exploits the fast track network to your advantage and screws over everyone using regluar kazaa, lol. Fast Track has also been statisically proven to be the largest file sharing network.

Hey guys if you like file sharing why use kazzaa or winmx when you can go directly to the source us MIRC waaaaayyyyy better than all those p2p file sharing programs plus not a ton of spyware. and if its viruses your worried about get a good virus scanner. also for any of you who would like to try using an ftp to download from let me know and I will set you up an acount to download anything you want from me.
