if i understand the problem right, the only way to fix it is to format (erase everything) and reinstall. sad but true.

impossible. you cant do jack with this comp. everything is locked. nevermind formatting, you cant even get into DOS.

Use a Windows install CD to format the drive.

up in smoke : yes you can, you just set the pc to boot from a cdrom in BIOS and put a xp cd in, restart your comp, and then you can run from there.

hit f5 (f8?) at startup, goto safemode w/ network. should log u in. of u can steal the SAM._ file, but that another ballgame. priv me for info.

Why not just boot in safe mode and create a new account for yourself?
