So I'm assuming that you dont know the admin password. If this doesn't work I would reinstall windows and create an acount for yourself. Goto Start Settings Control Panel User Acounts and then create a new acount if you still cant log off then log on as the newly created user then you would be best off to reinstall windows

I have never heard of XP signing you onto an admin account automatically. Do you only have one account on your computer (or none) set up? So the admin account is password protected, or the things you want to do in the admin account are password protected. How do you know that the account is admin. By all logic, if you have 0 privileges when you log onto it, it must be not an admin. When you do what teetdogs said, do you see only one account on the bottom? I didn't even think that XP had an "Administrator" account. Are you reefering to Owner?

Theres 2 accounts set up. One is the account that signs me on automatcally has been blocked of everything. I cant do anytrhing in that. The Administrator is what i need to get to, to change the settings for the other account. This XP version is Pro. so it does have that mode. it basically polices the other accounts. Its so heavly protected i cant even get into the control panel

Yeah, I had that same problem on my computer sort of. We had to reinstall XP. It wasn't a big deal, and you'll be back to your old stuff pretty soon. I recommend that you call tech support to reinstall. Most makes of computers (all the major ones) give you their own drivers and such. When you reinstall XP, you need to use these discs too. Hopefully you still have them. Call up your computer's tech support number, and tell them your problem. Most likely, they will say what we have said, and tell you to reinstall. Unless there's something different for Pro, you will have to. Do what they tell you, but back up the installer for your programs. Not the actual programs. Any documents you need should also go onto these discs. Then, reinstall XP and reinstall all your old programs. It's just a hassle. You should be all set. If it was 2000, then it would be a different story, but XP seems to be immune to any password cracking software.

What he's saying is he has an account on a computer with restrictions, he wants to get around those restrictions, and he needs the admin password to get it. Ask the admin for it? Is it like a school computer/library computer?
