The Stoned Philosopher

Just want to get someone opinion on this problem ive been having with my new comp ive built several weeks ago (specs here: http://420.marijuana.com/showpost.ph...2&postcount=10 ).
Ok here is the problem, my pc works fine for a few days then all of a sudden it shuts off. The power button wont respond and wont reboot even though the led on the mobo is green showing its in standby and getting power. Then labout 10 minutes or so later it reboots itself. I dont think its a overheating problem since my average cpu temp is around 30c idle and 40c at max, the mobo is around 35c most the time.
I just need confirmation that its the psu since the psu i got is a generic one that came with the case.

Well my initial thought was that you were over heating, however after reading your temps I doubt that that is the problem. My next guess would also be the power supply, what I would do is since you have two computers I would try and swap out the power supply in your other computer with your new one temporarily just too see if the problem really is a defect in the power supply. Of course make sure the old power supply has enough wattage to power all of your devices. If that old one works, then its a problem with your power supply and you should return it. And if it still doesn’t work, then its back to the drawing board.

Thx alot for replying, anyway i would do that if the psu in my old case was powerful enough,but it isnt . The psu in my old box is a 300 watt i think and it doesnt even have a 4 pin atx connector required for the mobo in question, not to mention not enough juice. I guess ill go out and get a antec psu.

Update: Ive did what you said, and the comp did boot with my old comps psu, so it was a problem with the 450 watt that came with the case.
Anyway i got a Antec True 430 for my case and so far its been running wonderfuil, and quiet too
Anyway can someone close or delete this thread already?
