| It is dangerous to download multiple porno clips from the internet LOL someone posted a website that had various movies, some were stoner clips and the rest were stoner’s gals getting in on with a bong lol well…. They had about 30 3 minutes preview clips and it was hard to resist not wanting to watch 420 gals getting it on with a bong so I must have downloaded 60 clips, could not help it lol. I herd it was unsafe to download porn movies from the internet because the websites somehow get mad when you don’t buy the flicks and put a virus or a hidden computer file on the hard drive. In addition, dose downloading multiple porn clips clutter up the performance of a … 1.5 gig ram computer or slow down the performance of online computers games…. Its funny how such short length video clips could take up so much memory ![]() |

| Ive dled TONS of p0rn off sites such as those and havent gotten any gripe yet. Also, if you are dling p0rn clips, best to have a avi/mpeg/wm joiner so you can combine them into a "full" movie ![]()

| its not the porn that makes it "dangerous".. the number of clips you are downloading are irrelevant aswell. its the site itself that has the virus most of the time. AVI/Mpeg files cannot contain viruses in themselves. |

| Watch the file extensions, sometimes people will name files .mpg.exe or something similar to trick users, setup your filters in kazaa lite (think its set by default to block those types of files names, I'm not sure though). Note that .exe, .bat, .scr, .reg, and even .dll's and .pif's can be malicious so watch those extensions. Also some movie files can launch your internet browser, and depending on how shady the website is they can try to install software on your system though active x installations and the like. Also malicious cookies could be used, make sure you change your security settings to prompt before allowing cookies. And the number one thing to do is to keep your web browser up to date, because the even more shady sites could even go as far as to exploit security holes in your browser to install software.

| Is there a way to set up a firefox web browser to filter through .exe, .bat, .scr, .reg .dll's and .pif's I recently purchased pest patrol (www.pest patrol. com) this gizmo is supposed to detect miscellaneous files such as pest, cookies and key loggers. Pest patrol is believed to be better then spy bot because when websites demand cookies to enter their site, and will not allow entrance to the website without them placing their cookie, pest patrol accepts the cookie and then deletes it. This seems to work really well. While surfing the web a sound always comes up detecting cookies that websites tried to place on the hard drive, it also logs them and shows what site attempted to place them there. In addition, I bought a new modem www .2wire.com > the home portal. This modem cost an arm and a leg but is well worth the price because it has a built in firewall, as well as win xppros. Plus I also have Norton system works that has a variety of web tools that deletes active x controls, I know of no other way to make this computer any safer then it already is lol beside maybe somehow being able to twink firefox into not accepting those out of the ordinary bat scr files ![]() |

| Just watch the file extensions. Personally I don't think that there is any reason to by software to keep your computer secure, use spybot I'm willing to bet that it is much better than pest patrol, norton is bloated don't use it. Set to internet settings to prompt before allowing cookies, that way sites that require that you use them (these are going to be sites where you login, or ecommerce sites) you can allow. Sites that aren't ecommerce or sites where you don’t login have no business putting cookies on your computer and if they force you too accept the cookies then **** them, because they probably have a malicious intent anyways. Use AVG anti virus, if you don’t have a hardware firewall (which you do now) use zone alarm. Spybot keeps the spyware out, and properly configuring your browser keeps bad cookies and the like out. Keep all software up to date, especially your browser, run windows update regularly. If you do all of that then you will have nothing to worry about, buying software is for suckers, don’t fall for that stuff . BTW, you probably could of saved a bunch of money buy buying a router instead of getting a new modem, all home routers have NAT firewalls in them. |

| Yeah, I herd a lot of negative stuff about those famous NAT/firewalls, I often wondered why people who Wright viruses always target porn sites and not regular websites it is always porno sites, funny how that is. I downloaded close to 60 quick clips from a 420 link; all of the videos played on windows media player and did not warn me of any unrecognized files until now. (just updated it a hour ago) after the update, I went to play a flick and before the clips played, a warning message appeared, saying that The extended file is not recognized by windows media player, but the player might still be able to play it. Because the extension is unknown by the media player you should be sure that the file comes from a trust worthy source. Lol now they tell me, I figured it was to late now because the clips had already been downloaded and played. O well @ least now I know. |

| NAT firewalls aren't bad, in fact thats the kind of firewall that you have in your modem/router device. They work really well as long as you keep the firmware up to date, some have more config options than others but overall the configs options are pretty decent. |
