This computers is going to crash
I have Norton anti virus as well ass Pest Patrol to detect spy ware so, unless Pest Patrol or Norton failed to detect a virus or pest, it could then possibly be a virus.(all though I seriously doubt it) Up date: The CPU usage is up to 100%! I aware all fancy firewalls as well as other expensive security programs are worthless. Went to msconfig and disabled most programs and some are still invisibly running in the back round. Pressing ctr alt delete now shows 26 programs running; I do not know which ones to stop from running. Dells supports reprehensive seldom speak English and are often hard to understand. I called them when I got home, went through a bunch of bull s procedures, I am telling the moron that I am pressing the ctr f2 button and nothing happens. This moron fails to understand the problem so they said they would call me back in 10 minutes – 2 days latter still no call. I would call again but do not feel like waiting on the phone for 2 hours only to have some moron who speaks broken English to finely answer and say you have the wrong department- call this number, and then continue the he said she said process for another hour. Communicating with Dells technical support reprehensive are like communicating through smoke singles, only that smoke singles is faster.
Anyone that lives in the United States and that do not speak English should go back to where they came from

First off your firewall has nothing to do with any of this, second pest patrol sucks, third norton sucks. What site are you talking about? And post the hijack this log.

They don't live in the US, Dell outsources tech support/customer service to foreign nations like India for a fraction of the cost of US workers.

everything on your log file looks fine. If you want information on a certain process you can usually google search it and find all the information you need.

I did a system restore as well as delete the two-java programs that were running in the background.
So far, the computer is running smooth. I searched Microsoft’s database for what to and not to delete.

Thanks for the link to hijack this.) I didn’t not want to delete the java key unless I was absolutely sure what the program was used for,- I believe that the reason why the computer was running slow was because those two simple java downloads turned out to be using large amounts of disk space that were running during system start up. You would think that the fancy firewall that I paid booko bucks for would specialize in detecting porn downloads that are infested with java script-heh
My subscription for Norton anti virus is almost finished. Is there a better anti virus program (preferably free) to protect against viruses?
Again thanks for the info and link. If it went for the link, I would have never found those two java programs that were running in the back round and using all the dick space.

This is what I use for anti-virus it's nice and light, its not bloated, works great, and is free http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php. Make sure to uninstall norton when you are done using it, because its just going to suck up your memory if you don't.

Ghosts in the machine.

Or... Does the machine make strange noises that it didn't when you bought it?
Extreme slowness can be a sign of a dying hard drive.

You might hear a click-click-whrrrrr-scratch-grind or something that sounds like
a phaser from Star Trek... or something completely different.

edit: The time-out errors seem like your machine might have been turned into a
spam relay, or your DSL might have been temporarily broken. However, I've
been wrong before.

Now that I relook at it, are you sure that you posted your entire log? It looks like some of it might have got cut off, you should rerun hijack this and double check that.

I have a feeling that “Norton Ghost” is using unnecessary disk space and running unnecessary programs during system boot, I am seriously debating about ditching this stupid ass Norton and Using the Anti Virus program that Psychological had recommended because Norton has too many programs installed and will not allow me to install the additional programs without uninstalling Norton, parentally.
The CPU is also making running noises, hard to explain…. Like when the computer first boots it sounds like the motor will not stop running, no funny sounds, just constant reveling. Rrrrrrrrr that reason there leads me to believe that the system is running to many programs.
Update: While typing this message on Microsoft Word I was doing a spell cheek and the program suddenly froze when I clicked the correct spelling tab, I tried to hit the cancel tab but everything froze and a lil screen came up asking me to insert the XP Operating System disc. I declined because the last time this “word freeze happened I inserted the dick and six or so options came up asking what I wanted to do and I did not know what option to choose so I declined. then when I decline, the message keeps coming back asking me if I’m sure that I want to skip this procedure, and then goes on to say that windows will not run properly without some… needed files. I do not want to accidentally over lap windows and blow up the hard drive so I am skipping the error message that is telling me to insert the OS disk. (This message was recovered by auto recover thank go I don’t have to type this all over again) I’m going to use Hijack this again and post the log… maybe something has changed.
