CWShredder is the best answer to it (also if you use hijackthis and are not very computer-literate, google for a "hijackthis log file analyzer" or something like that, should find an automated script to help you determine whats good/bad).
So is it Internet Explorer's fault, or the user's? Answer: the user...ding, ding, ding! Download Windows XP Service Pack 2, stop looking at porn, and you won't have to worry about it. I hate the way FF loads, the way pages look, and Mozilla in general, it's a ***** for us website developers who have to cater to NS/FF users; to be honest, I don't even design for them anymore, a majority of users still use IE and until that changes, I'll stick with designing for them unless a client asks otherwise.

I use firefox, and I'm saving for A Mac....I was a Mac user for 10 years before buying this PC after college....I've had enough. WHen it comes time to buy a new system I'm going back to MacOS......

Macs are overpriced underpowered excuses for pc's, the macos is terrible and cant run all of the applications that windows and other superior os's can run. Trust me when i tell you to stay the hell away from macs, you will thank me.

Macs underpowered? That's news to me. Macs fill a different void in the PC world, especially in the graphics and video production fields. I bet most of the movies you watch, the shows you see, and the magazines you read (even the checks you sign) have been edited using a Mac. I know a lot of the print material is done with Macs, because I used to work for a big commercial printing company, and the press room would use Quark Xpress (on a Mac) to do all the designs.

funny how IE is the browser that refuses to conform to standards set forth by the W3C.

also in an ACTUAL test, IE/FF were about even in loading times, except scripting which FF is extremely good at. Opera is actually better than both in most areas.

SP2 did nothing for security, the IE root vulnerability it "fixed" DIDN'T get fixed, same with it's OS counterpart. Go on using that unstable, adware-loving PoS if you want.

I will. Because I'm a smart user of my software and system. It's an ignorant user who gets viruses and trojans. And yes, IE does wander off the path when it comes to standards, but there are a lot of features that are GREAT for developers that NS/FF/O CANNOT use and it's a crying shame. SP2 did do something for security, their free popup-blocker works fine for me *shrug*

on the developers side, maybe ie IS better.

but im not a developer, nor am i very techy literate. i recently made the switch to ff, and i dont think ill go back to ie. i prefer how ff looks, it seems to load faster, plus............................. tabs. five tabs can be navigated more easily then five windows, which is always a plus in my book. as for popup blocking? havent had one unwanted popup since i switched, even though many popups would somehow circumvent any popup blocker in ie.

if you choose ie, thats your choice, and im not going to say its any better or any worse then my choice. i personally prefer ff, but thats my choice and im not going to say its any better or any worse then your choice.
