OK, I've found something I really don't like....some video clips I have won't fast foreward in v11.....while I could do it just fine, with the same file, in 10. Whats up with that, and is there anyway to fix it? Also, that detail pissed me off so much I tried reinstalling 10, and it won't let me! Someone help me out here....either tell me a way to fast foreward or skip around in a video clip (instead of watching it from beginning to end) or reinstall 10!!!

EDIT-nevermind.....there are instructions right in the media player help to roll back to v10. I'll wait to go back to 11 for awhile, let them get some bugs worked out....

Yeah I tried to reinstall 10 because I hate 11 and I can't find the download anywhere.

Another sweet thing in version 11...you can't burn CDs anymore because it just says there is an error every time. Yay there goes my music CD burning software...

Well if you read my earlier comments in this thread you will be surprised to hear that I have finally installed WMP11, and boy is it good. It looks and feels amazing to use, the search is somewhat like that of Vista's (eliminating results AS you type), it uses less system resources than 9 & 10, and I have yet to find any bugs (although the album art can be a bit choppy, but hey, it's a beta).

Displaying music by album art is a god send for the rest of my family who never understood the menus in the older players. My mum has finally discovered the massive music library shared over the network and uses it all the time. WMP will grab album art from network drives too, meaning that once my library was updated, all I had to do was set the network drives for WMP to monitor and it pulled everything across.

Two more great additions to the player - picture management and 'intelligent' playlists. Not much I can say about the pictures - it's not really revolutionary but it adds a certain conveniance. The new playlist functionality on the other hand is dope. Media Player remembers which tracks you skip, and will ask you if you want to remove them from the playlist when it stops playing. It also notices when you skip through songs and only listen to metal tracks for example, and it will play more of that genre. It also remembers which songs you SPECIFICALLY choose from playlists, increasing their star rating and again, playing more of the same.

Also, media player has never been able to play DVDs on my PC for some reason, even with DVD codecs installed but WMP11 can now play them, so I am rather chuffed.

I am much more impressed than I thought I would be, and I am looking forward to the Microsoft MP3 player that will inevitably accompany the software.

On a slightly off topic note, I tried the beta of Internet Explorer 7 and it sucks. Still doesn't compare to Firefox even in the slightest, especially as in the most recent build (1.5.0.5) Mozilla seem to have finally ironed out the massive amounts of resources Firefox used to need.

If you go into 'Add/Remove Programs' WMP 11 will be in there. If you choose to uninstall, it will rollback to your previous version. If not, there is an article about how to do it somewhere on the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Your best option for getting the install files would probably be www.download.com or one of the various BitTorrent trackers. Try www.mininova.org or http://thepiratebay.org.

If you think that is the best you need to check out G-Force.

I've been using it for more than a mouth now its not bad, but burns slow. I much more like Nero for burning.
