.....Hi, when i try to launch Counter Strike Source it gets to the little green screen that says launching CSS but then after that disappears the game never goes on my screen. It won't start up, period. I tried reinstalling it. Anyone know why this could be or what is causing it and how to fix it? I was just playing a few months ago and it worked fine. Thanks

P.S.: I'm using Valve (Steam) Client

Are you using any kind of refresh rate fix for your computer? If so, make sure that whatever resolution you're running HL at, that the refresh rate isn't too high for your monitor.

I usually have problem's with Steam games because I don't have all the refresh rate's set correctly. The Loading box will come up, but then it just disappears without anything really happening.

Make sure you're logged into Steam properly first of all. If it freezes when trying to log in that's one thing to check.

Secondly make sure you've updated CSS. You might have turned updates off so you'll have to patch the game before you play.

Also try opening ports 27015 through I think 27030. 27015 and 27016 are the only ones that really matter because you'll never see a server using any other ports.
