This is really starting to piss me off, because I bought this laptop this summer so its pretty new. Anyways sometimes when I'm listening to music or watching a video all the sudden the music/video will go in 'slow motion' and the audio gets choppy and slow. Then it'll stop after a while and come back randomly. Help? Thanks. ![]()

Are you using a filesharing program like DC++? I know that if someone is downloading from me, it slows down my media files. If not, then I'm not sure. It's always possible that you have some virus or spyware, or if your fan's not very good it could be overheating and the system starts running at a lower speed (or shutting down altogether- my brother's old laptop did that before he learned to elevate it on the sides to let the heat from the fan actually go somewhere). If you are using a filesharing program, in most cases I wouldn't recommend it. The only reason I have one is because someone at my college hosts a secure hub which only people with our college's IP address can access. Easier to keep clean.

Is it possible that you have too many apps open at once? A antivirus and p2p program can really take up alot of system memory.

| Yup....if you need to be running several apps at once, you might need some more memory. I can't bear working with anything less than a gig, but you're really asking for trouble is you have anything less than 512 megs of RAM, IMO

It's not because I'm running to many programs, I have a gig of ram. I'm guessing its because its getting to hot and then it'll start to run slower. Just what ITG said. Thanks for the responses, I'm going to try and keep her cool.
