Not even adult sites, just the really gross ones. My brother keeps going to tranny websites and they cause all sorts of pop ups and make the computer slow and fuck up...I don't want to come right out and ask him or tell him not to go to the sites anymore, I mean, how do you tell someone that you know they like chicks with dicks? Anyway, is there a free program or something that I can use to prevent this? I feel like a mom!!

Anyways, there's really nothing you can do but confront the problem. Don't use some computer program to substitute for parenting (or sistering? in your case) just tell him he can look at that whack shit when he gets his own computer if he has to. It will be awkward but you just gotta do it.

I don't want to embarrass him or hurt his feelings...but it's really kind of gross...I went and blocked all the sites that he went to, maybe that'll work for a while. I can't believe he was dumb enough to not clear the history. Maybe he wants us to find out. Does this mean he's gay? I wouldn't care if he is, but I wouldn't want him to be scared to tell anyone.

I think the fact your brother is looking at tranny porn is the bigger issue than the popups. He is probably getting spyware on your computer so clean it up with Ad-Aware by Lavasoft and then consider adding parental control software or password protect the computer.

Who the hell cares what his sexual preferences are? He's an individual and should be allowed to make whatever choices he wants and screw anyone he chooses. Just because it's not your personal preference doesn't make his preferences any less valid.

That said...

Blocking sites can be done in some routers. I know that newer Linksys models have the capaiblity to block sites based on keywords. That's one option.

Another option is to install, update and use a spyware removal tool or, preferrably, two. I agree w/ the above poster that Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware are two top-notch programs. The price is right on both of them (free).

Another solution would be to talk to your brother and explain to him tha the sites he's browsing are infecting your computer with spware and crap. Rather than go into the nature of the sites, explain that you don't want to have to keep doing maintenance on teh PC just because he wants to surf for whatever.
It might require an ultimatum in that he stop surfing to spyware-infesting websites or he doesn't use your computer.
