| I got bored and decided to rewire all of my gaming systems. I was plugging my gamecube into my TV when I realized the TV had an S-Video input. I got this TV just for the sake of having one incase I ever needed one and it was extremely cheap for a 24" TV. I don't have cable/watch tv/use a tv for anything. The last thing I expected was an S-Video input. It's been a few years since I played with S-Video because I never had a rig that allowed for it (space issues) and I totally forgot that my videocard has S-Video out. Now my TV and computer are about 1 foot apart and my speakers reach over to the TV so I can put them on each side. S-Video out + X-Fi sound card + Klipsch 2.1 speakers = Home Theatre I went out and got an S-Video cable and hooked up the rig. Then once I thought I was done I remember my girlfriend's dad gave me an $80 wireless mouse for free that I never use (Logitech MX1000...I think...it's been a while) so I figured I would use my USB extension cord to hook my wireless mouse up to work with the TV. So now I've got a wireless mouse rigged up to my TV with home theatre quality sound all for the $18 that the S-Video cable cost me. But that's not all! My videocard (Nvidia 6800 GT) has a lot of picture altering options so I was able to take my super cheap ass TV and up the sharpness (digitally) to the point that the TV looks like an HDTV. I know the dot pitch still sucks but it's a lot closer than it was before. So I decided to download GTA: San Andreas yesterday and now I'm going to play it with 128 mb textures on my HD quality TV that has theatre quality sound. Getting bored can sometimes be a good thing ![]() |
