Im looking for some good p2p sites. Ive used bearshare in the past cause I could turn off sharing. Which I did because years ago I was threatened with a lawsuit from the MPAA. As I understand it, it is the shareing of files that you get sued for not downloading. I didnt want to put bearshare on my new pc though because I think it has spyware.

Anyway Im mainly looking for a place I can download complete games and albums.

Also I was wondering do people get sued for downloading PC games?

oink, torrent site for music and apps. invite only and very strict on sharing and minimum 192 kbps on mp3s. can get pretty much anything on it. awesome.
since i've been a member of oink, haven't used soulseek that much, which i used to get alot of stuff before. any other p2p networks is pretty shit for the music i'm after.

I use utorrent mainly and sometimes Azureus and I just google the torrents that I want.

I've downloaded games for the last 10ish years and I've never had a problem. PC Gamer had a great article about how piracy doesn't actually impact the market the way game makers claim.

Most people who download games wouldn't pay for them anyways so they're not losing out on business as much as they want you to think. The entire gaming industry brings in around $10 billion a year.

But if you download a game and enjoy it I think it's only right to go out and buy it. If it's quality work it deserves to be rewarded. PC games are only about 10% of the gaming market and it will only go lower if people don't buy quality games like Oblivion and Half-Life.

For most things that you download anyways, to use them at full potential you need to buy them. If you download Madden, or any other EA game, you can't play it online. Pretty much any game that you can play online (just about all of them now) you can't use fully unless you buy it.

Limewire is good if you've been using it a while and know what to look for, but there's a ton of viruses on there. If you've never had it, it's not the best place to start. Download uTorrent and Oink, Demonoid and Torrentz is all you'll need. (just remember to be patient, chances are you're not gonna get what you want the DAY it comes out unless it's music.. you can usually get music before it comes out.)

Yeah, I want in on oink too, could someone please send me an invite? I've been using the torrentscan.com site (combined with BitLord as my client), it's like a search engine that runs through a whole heap of torrent sites (torrentspy, isoHunt, mininova etc etc all in one site, it's pretty sweet).

But I want to see what all the hype is about surrounding oink, so yeah, I'm looking for an invite?
