I have come to a realization... it would be fuckin sweet to have a touchspeed monitor for my computer screen! You could be so much faster, it's more natural to just go there with your finger (uh...) then have to play with your mouse (um...).
Do they have these? I hope they're not too much money if they do, I want one!

And it should be able to go back to mouse when you want it to... maybe a button or somethin that switches them, so they're not both on and makin it go crazy! But maybe both on. I dunno. Actually both on might not be that bad, but you might hit the mouse and it could get annoying. Well, why would you hit the mouse actually you know where it is, so it's not like you would let your arm hit it, it's just moving your arm to the screen and back. I wouldn't wanna touchscreen though like if it was real early in the morning and I'm really tired... because then I'd be like uhhh I don't wanna move my arm around so much. Or maybe if I was still workin out, after a workout I might be too sore to move my arm up and down, haha. Probably not though but why take the chances, and who knows? It would be soo easy to scroll, too your hand would just like go there.... OHH!! videogames! that'd be sweet touchscreen with video games you could be so fast and so accurate, unless you have huge hands, then you can get a stylus! haha actually that wouldn't even be that bad for anyone to have a stylus for your monitor instead of moving your mouse. I think I'm onto something here! Not really though because you can already get styluseses and if your monitor was touchscreen it'd probably be able to pick that up. But maybe if you monitor was touchscreen they could have it so there's a spot for a stylus, and maybe even come with a stylus! and maybe even come with a cord on the stylus! and then they could attach the other end of the cord to the computer so you won't lose it! Nice.

So yeah, touchscreen would be sweeeeet.

They exist, but they're effectively double the price of their non-touch LCD counterparts. I haven't used any consumer touch screens myself, but I assume that the most capability they have is the general "drag-and-drop." You might be able to play Starcraft or anything with traditional mouse input function. There is the technology for multiple touch inputs, but those even more expensive. Tigerdirect has a small collection of touch-LCDs, maybe you could poke around for more reviews if you're really interested.

we have touch screens at work on the car wash equpment and yesthey work on windows but there not the easyest to use. they dont always work you hit the wrong button alot very sensitive to how u touch the screen.

If you have an LCD monitor, you can get a touchkit overlay for it that will effectively make your monitor a touchscreen: http://www.digitalww.com/store/products.asp?cat=20
That vendor has touchkits for LCDs as large as 17".

I can vouch for this guy. I have done business with him. He's a one-man-shop and may take time to answer emails, but be atient & persistent.

Sweet... is that like something that gets put on my monitor to make it touch? I have a 17" Dell flatscreen LCD.

Yes, it does go over your existing screen, and "requires no modification" of your existing monitor.

Yes, they are accurate, and yes, it gets applied over your existing monitor.
It may require disassembly of the monitor, I don't know.
