| <PERSONAL TECHNICAL OPINION> Conexant modems are pieces of crap. As a general rule, all software-based modems are pieces of crap. </PERSONAL TECHNICAL OPINION> What is the possibility that the modem itself is faulty?

| Just out of curiousity, have you gone to Dell's website and searched for "GX150"? We have a Dell GX110 and went there to get some of our drivers. Tyna

| I am sure he has looked on the dell website since he has tried 15 different drivers. Also, I agree with Darque Pervert and think that the modem itself is faulty. Just go to Bestbuy and pick up a new one for CHEAPOLA! |

| Although its never happened to me, I suppose its possible that the other drivers you installed (the incorrect ones) are conflicting with the right one. I believe the drivers listed at http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MODEM/CONEXANT/ will work. What I would do is get those downloaded, remove the modem physically, restart without the modem. Then shut down, re-install it, and re-boot, and the "Found New Hardware Wizard" will pop up. Direct it towards the drivers, and it should work! In doing this, the system will think that it is a new piece of hardware, not something that was installed with faulty drivers. You could also go to "Update Drivers" under the modem section of System Profiler. Then point it in the right direction to the drivers from there. Good Luck man. --Fight4TheRight
