There's a keyboard language setting in the control panel. It's probably set to some foreign language or some non-standard keyboard layout.

Either that or your keyboard is FUBAR.

yeah that's probably what happened since some letters are working and some aren't.

happened to me at work once. I closed down the systems because i entered an incorrect password over 5 times, which locks it all down.
