So my main machine that I use for browsing, watching movies, music, etc. Is a PPC Mac Mini.

I have always wanted to throw Linux at this thing because of its form factor and obvious potential.

Right now I have OS X on an external FW drive that I boot from, but the mini has brand new internal 80GB that I threw in last week.

My plan is to install Linux on the internal, and leave OS X on the external, but I was having a hell of a time getting the boot loader to recognize the FW drive, does anyone know how to make this work?

Not that it really matters, because most distros use Yaboot as the bootloader, but I think I'm planning on using Ubuntu, because of its hardware support.

I'm not sure if anyone around here reaches this level of geekdom, but I do know that some people around here use Linux, and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I'd recomend that you go to the ubuntu forums, there are a lot of helpful people there. I'm sorry I can't help you more, I'm not familier with installing linux on mac hardware.

I know it can work, I've seen Linux on Mac's before. I'm not sure about installing anything as I'm new to Linux overall...I was trying to install a game on one of the computers at school (Mac running with Linux) and since I've been using windows all my life I was kind of confused, but I was planning on getting a laptop and installing Linux on it as well, so any replies here would help me too, lol
