ok about a month ago i ordered one of the free ubuntu7.04 caus i was tired of wasting my burnable cd's. it just got here and im installing it on my spare hdd to test it out.

i've been playing around w/ opensuse & pclinuxos. i'm slowly trying to make the full transition to linux just because I don't like a lot of the things microsoft has done w/ xp & vista. still run 2000 on my main box, run linux in vmware on that and on a 2nd box.

1 tip if you are trying to make the transition: look for opensource software that's available for windows and linux. get used to using that software on your windows box and it'll pretty much function the same in linux. ie. gaim (IM), azureue (torrents)

linux really isn't for users w/ limited computer skills but installers like synaptic and yast are making things much easier than they were a few years back.

I running dual boot with Feisty Fawn and I love it. The only reason I ever boot into Windows is to play games. When I get my new laptop it's going to be dual boot as well, and this box will be pure Linux.
