| Yeesh. This thread made me realize that I haven't upgraded in a few years. I guess that means it's been doing the job. When I play, I mostly play sports & driving games, so they don't seem to tax the video card too hard. And it works just fine for everything else I do. I really need more RAM though. ![]() I built my own too. I've upgraded piece by piece over a few years. Some sort of ASUS motherboard AMD Athlon 64 @2800+ 512 MB RAM ATI Radeon 9500 Pro Maxtor 40Gb & 120Gb hard drive LG DVD/CD burner Liteon DVD drive Big ass 19" Monitor |

| 2.8GHZ Athlon processor nVidia nForce2 AMD series(?) chipst with Soundstorm enabled nVidia GeForce 6600 1GB RAM iDeq case The 6600`s a total duff with a loud-as-f*ck rattle in the fan: nVidia`s nForce4 drivers, which should support older nForce2 models as I understand it, kills off my sound and Ethernet and the ancient Soundstorm drivers mean that the sounds cuts out and distorts at random intervals for no discernible reason other than to piss me the hell off. When the time comes to upgrade, I think I`ll take this system for a visit over a local cliffside. ...Or I`ll possibly tie it to a skateboard and roll into heavy, oncoming traffic- I`m undecided. She`s going to meet an end fitting to the amount of emotional trauma she`s inflicted on me, though- the bitch. ...

| New to the forums and noticed this section at the end of the page. Pretty cool stuff in these forums, and pretty nice setups you guys have going on. I'm pretty jealous of most of them. But hopefully I'll turn the tables in the text few months. Which I'm running off of two year computers since I sold my first computer. But here's what I got planned out so far (buying piece by piece). I really need a new gaming pc because I'm tired of my console's frying up the disc drive. Building this beast with a EVGA Nforce 780i SLI w/ Intel Core 2 Extreme 3.0Gz, but oc'd to 4.0GHz. The board has a capability of running three EVGA Nvidia 8800 GTX video cards, so I might try that all at once or get the other two after I build. Four OCZ FlexXCL DDR2 (1024MB x 2), and a 400GB Seagate SATA hard drive. Wrapping it in alot of bells and whistles in the Zelman Fatat1ly case. Going to start ordering in March so I'll have some financial cushion and see where it goes. But at least I'll have something to be very proud of. |

| LOL, my computer was a $2,000+ top of the line piece of equipment when I got it in '97, I'd be lucky if I could get $50 for it now. ![]() |
