The only game that I couldn't play at max settings so far has been Crysis, and NOBODY can run Crysis on max settings yet. Dual boot XP and Vista

Dude, i can easily run crysis on max settings. Only thing that makes it a little gay is when you put it up to 16x AA, but it looks exactly the same. Just turn AA off (you can't even tell the difference) and you should be able to run it. if not try overclocking your 8800GTX! Worked for me (or maybe its the quad core at 3ghz?)

When you say max settings do you mean DX10 on Vista max settings? I read an article not too long ago that said that was physically impossible with current hardware.

its definitely possible.

It also runs better in XP with the 'max settings hack' where you go in and manually put everything to level 5 in the config files (because the options are disabled in the XP version, it's actually a marketing ploy more than a technical failure).

I've tried it on both and it runs quite nicely with everything on maximum except AA.

AA kills crysis and it's more of a driver thing at the moment rather than the tech.
