Default Free online TV (Legal!?)

Yeah, I found this thing online Joost. It's online TV, CBS, Comedy Central, Happy Tree friends, etc. A lot of stuff is on there. It's still in beta at the moment, which means there are some bugs in it... but it works very well. There are some ads, which sucks - but it's basically all on demand, and free.

This is from the same guys who made Skype (which eBay bought, I think) - for anyone who is framiliar with these guys work.

It's the other way around...eBay bought Skype.

One thing I've heard lately is that even the networks themselves are starting to offer on-demand streaming because they've been losing their primetime audience. Is this legal? Questionable. But will the networks care? Not immediately. At least until they can implement their own internet audience measures.

I should clarify, it's perfectly legal. The "!?" was meant as more of a "Oh look!" thing, rather than a question.

I know for a fact it's legal.

I also said eBay bought skype, not the other way around - if you re-read the original post.

"Which ebay bought" means he's saying eBay bought Skype too... hehehe...

I am intrigued, but I'm not sure I like the downloading thing. On the actual network website, it's all streaming through the web, you don't have to download a client. Basically, what tis is telling me is "Download me, and you can watch thousands of episodes of hundreds of different shows from dozens of different networks, for free! There's no downside!" It sounds too good to be true, don't it? So it probably isn't. This strikes me as something that is potentially ridden with malware... I think I'll sit back and play it safe for awhile...

EDIT- Trocisp, man, you really need to stop with the double posting... I think this is like the third time I've seen you do it in the last couple of days...

Oh, yeah, and CURSE YOU FOR CORRECTING IGEMINI FIRST! YOU SHALL RUE THIS DAY!

... ::ahem:: well, now that the formalities are taken care of I must be off... peace...

My internet is going crazy... but it's not the third time, it's the first or second, at most. I'm almost positive.

Also, I've downloaded it. The only "downside" is, that there's ads. Not pop-ups or anything, jsut small (non obtrusive) ads. They're not big, here... I have a picture.

And the ads stay the same size regardless of resizing the window, and only come up once every 20 minutes or so.

I don't know about you, but I have about 200 XP and Vista keys just laying around the house (okay, maybe not two hundred, but well more than anyone could ever need), so I've never seen a reason not to dual boot.

On the indie documentary channel they have death of a shaman playing. It's a good documentary.

Need the space for e-books, I have an xp laptop but it's legacy. Besides if you work at it, you can get a lot of things to run on linux.

All the shows are on demand, rather than just double-clicking, click once and then click the > (with a circle around it). You can choose from any of the shows on the channel, not just what's playing now.

Yeah, Wine and all those are godsends on rigs I build without XP or Vista... but with a plethora or XP and Vista keys and the low price of hard drives, no reason for me not to dualboot.
