| For those of you who are interested, The Pirate Bay (www.thepiratebay.org) has got a message on it's main page claiming that it will be back up and running, fully functional within a couple of days. Since they aren't breaking the law, there is little the police can do, and I am guessing this is what the police have realised. I guess TPB can look forward to their fat compensation checks. Thanks to all this free publicity too, they are going to be getting more traffic, thus more money. Looks like the mpaa or riaa or whichever group pressured the swedish police into taking action have shot themselves well and truly in the foot. I suppose TPB will have to spend all that extra money on some new servers to fulfill demand, darn such a shame. I personally use Azureus as my BT client. I find the UI is clean and simple, but it allows you to get under the hood if you want to. Plus it was the first client I found to work with my router AND I have an Azureus widget on my sidebar (www.desktopsidebar.com) I haven't actually dabbled with Usenet as yet, but if bittorrent keeps getting all this bad publicity it just makes it more well known to the world, thus more users, thus the *AA groups are gonna be putting more pressure on trackers like TPB. Anyone see the story about the MPAA hiring a hacker to try and get the IPs of people using the service of a BT tracker (I cant remember which)? Oh yeah, and for those of you who are worried about getting busted for using TPB - dont worry. Firstly, they supposedly dont keep records of dloads at TPB, and even if they did, they would only show you downloading the .torrent file as opposed to any copyrighted materials.

| My avg DL speed is around 700-750k on usenet. Not because thats the speed of the server but because thats the MAX my connection can go unfourtunatly. I DL'd around 300gb last month alone. Booya. http://slyck.com/ng.php |

| Private trackers are good. I can get my max speed off of most torrents.

| I just use isohunt.com *shrug*... I've found that most of the other tracker sites have the exact same (or less) search results.

| I use giganews. ISP servers generally limit monthly BW and speed. If I wanted to DL slow I'd just use BT lol..... |
