hey, I have a mac, but my imovie has disappeared. is there some free software out there that can turn movies of bud close ups i make into pictures? thanks.

Yea, take screenshots with any video player. Or use a frame editor, there are any number available...check it out on Google.

Reinstall iMovie or use the QuickTime Player.

I'm curious. Why did you make movies of things that don't move? You get much better still pictures by taking still pictures, rather than extracting frames from movies. Finding those key frames (the ones with all the information) isn't very easy.
