Lying about smoking marijuana

    so i wanted to know if my psychiatrist can find out i smoke weed. he wants to do some blood work on thyroid liver heart etc, is there any way he can detect any thc, or will the doctors tell you straight up there going to drug test you? The first thing he told me when he spoke to me was if i smoked weed....

    Just be straight up. It's doctor patient confidentiality. Chances are if you're seeing a psychiatrist its probably for some help, and lying to your doctor just isn't a good idea.

    You should tell your shrink about everything that affects your mind - including marijuana. The more information he's got, the more he can help you. He can't tell anyone else because of doctor/patient confidentiality and HIPAA.

    As for your question, THC only shows up in tests for THC.
