The list started off at NORML and then was posted on another cannabis board and was fleshed out from there. Thought it might be helpful for medicinal users. ;)

For muscle (including muscle-related back) pain, indicas are preferable, while for pain associated with nerve damage/degeneration, sativas are effective.

Thanks mate, that's awesome. Very interesting to be able to relate the name of a strain to how it can be used as a medicine.

    Personal Experience

I keep a pretty close eye on what strains I use on a daily basis and while I found nearly all of this to be accurate, I noted one discrepancy based on my own personal experience. For me, any type of skunk produces anxiety attacks and a has also induced fainting. I believe its due to my heart condition which involves my adrenal gland and my vagal nerve being overactive and overcompensating respectively. I wondered if anyone else had a problem with skunk or any other specific strain? Or if anyone could shed some light on why my condition is affected by what strains I smoke.

    Strawberry Cough is amazing!
It's the clearest high I've ever had. Incredible stuff.
You just feel up and focused, without any of the fuzz.
    I have ADD...
What was I talking about again?

I was looking at the strains specific to chron's disease, and I can't seem to find any information online about Auntie Em, and Blue fruit. I was wondering does anyone know where they have gotten this strain, or where you can get seeds for it? I was able to find some info on Dynamite.

    thanks.

Does anyone know a strain that would help anxiety, depression, and inattention ADHD all in one?

I am going to give Strawberry cough a go while in Amsterdam. A clear head high is what I prefer but don't ever get a choice round here.

Give Northern Lights a try, it seems to treat depression and anxiety, but, i'm not sure what affects this strain may exclusivly have on ADHD, i was looking at that one too, i'll have to try it and see if it may also help insomnia and headaches ;)

O, and FenceWalker, thank you so much for this list it's really helpful :)

I've been having good luck with hybrids for anxiety and depression. I really need to keep better track, but I think with bubblegum and g 13, I was enjoying an uppy high without getting anxious, and also feeling pretty happy and upbeat. Headband has been another great hybrid (I'm pretty sure it's a hybrid)

Granddaddy purps almost got into my head. I almost got a bit panicky, but it was a false alarm.

And anyone interested in treating anxiety, depression, etc, or if youve had panic attacks when smoking weed, smoke in moderation. Little bits at a time. I stay far away from bongs:p

Added benefit of all strains:sleep disorders. Eat too much, and you go to sleep,of any strain.
And the only way you can experience all the different chemicals in marijuana is to clean it,grind it to dust, mix it with whatever you want, and eat it uncooked.
Smoking destroys many of the elements in marijuana, and cooking and vaporizing also destroys some of them.
If you have some gelatin capsules, from any health food store, just empty out the gelatin in the capsules, and fill with ground up marijuana. HAPPY DREAMS!

I looked over that list, and I was wondering if there was a specific strain that helped mood swings? I'm bipolar and I find that weed in general helps, but if there's a specific strain that would help more I would love to know about it.

Look for the magazine "Treating Yourself" A good portion of the magazine has a page for each strain described for its medical purpose. It's really cool. Just flip to the back and they got like 1/4 of the magazine in each issue.
