I love to smoke at night and I heard that smoking before bed (which I do pretty frequently) affects REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. So I started reading a bit about it online. Apparently, REM sleep is the 3rd stage of sleep. It's the stage where dreams occur. When you smoke before sleeping then you have significantly reduced REM sleep (less movement, lack of/inability to remember dreams) and you need more sleep because your body needs a specific amount of REM sleep. So, since you have reduced amounts of it you need more of it. So that's the reason heavy smokers get vivid dreams when on break and why they don't dream or can't remember their dreams. Anyway, if anyone knows anything more about this I'd be interested to learn more and I'm sure others would too.

If you're interested check out these links or do some web surfing. If you find anything interesting post it in here.

    Cheers and smoke easy,
