I suffered a back injury last year, bulging disc and sciatica. My doctor asked me if I smoked, as it impeds healing. Would a vaporizer still slow down the healing process?

    I don't buy it.
I suffered a severe fall when I was 20 and have dealt with the aftermath ever since. Smoking has been a god send.

Sure, if you're smoking a lot and are otherwise not taking care of yourself then your immune system could be compromised but short of that I'd say you have nothing to worry about.
My guess is that he's not current with medical science regarding marihuana.
Absolutely not and is in fact highly recommended...

Smoking has no significant effect on healing, unless you've got stitches that'll get torn out if you cough. As for smoking v. vaping, for pain relief I'd stick to smoking Indicas. In my experience, you lose a lot of the analgesic properties of the weed when you vape it.
