Hey guys,

I recently became a member of the forum to garner more information regarding an upcoming urine drug screen i had to have with quest labs for a SWEET job. Unfortunately, I had been a heavy smoker for about a year when I was informed, and even after 37 days I am still not clean.

However, by following the information/advice posted here about substitution, it was smooth sailing! I have to wait 2 days to find out my results, but unless the donor was positive (HIGHLY DOUBTFUL) I should be in the clear.

My method:

I purchased a small 2oz container from walmart, as well as a temperature strip and a digital thermometer. I filled the container with water, and did a few trial runs of holding it in the crotch of my underwear to best understand how to get a desired temperature (96 seemed to be my steady average.) Today before taking the test, I unfroze my friend's urine in warm water, then filtered out the weird little protein bits through a coffee filter. I added this to the 2oz container, took an initial temp reading (92) and placed it the crotch of my underwear. On the way to the testing facility I checked the temp of the urine at a gas station restroom with my digital thermometer and it was stabilized at 96.

At quest I was directed into a bathroom and allowed to lock the door. I don't even think the attendant was listening! I quietly poured the sample into the cup, and hid the empty bottle in my underwear again. I received a copy of the testing form after turning in the sample, and there were no remarks in the remarks section. All it really said was that the temperature was within a normal range.

SO - I'm feeling pretty optimistic!
