Another pre-employment thread

Been a long time reader first time posting. I'm 24 years old 5'11" 160 pounds my metabolism is medium/high. My smoking history is 3-4 bowls per day quarter per week for about 12 years. Last time I smoked was May 25th. I've been on probation before and it usually takes me two weeks or so with no real work (aka exercising and stuff) to be clean, but I feel like I was cutting it close. I had a pre-employment piss test with labcorp 7994525 drug test (the tech wrote 708008 below this could anyone explain it to me) on june 3rd and I'm having mixed feelings. The day before I went in I took a athome marijuana test and failed pretty much only had the control line appear and didn't have time or wanted to send it to the lab for further analysis this was without any dilution. I did the dilution method somewhat because I didn't have time to go buy QF 4.0 or any other pure urine though I know it would have been easy to sub if I had more time to test warming methods and and to get it delivered to me so instead I bought a QCarbo drink from GNC (Yes I know it's just an expensive method of dilution). Woke up at 8am drank the 20oz QCarbo drink + the 4 cleansing pills that comes with it then 20oz water afterwards. Around 8:30 I took 4 500mg asprins and I voided 2 times and on my 2nd time around 9:30 I took another athome test and had a both the control line and a very solid T line (I didn't want to waste my 2nd athome test on my first void because they only had two at the store one of which I blew on the day I was told I had the job, but needed to go take the piss test so I wanted some validation that the drink/dilution worked. So after I saw the solid lines I was pretty stoked and I picked up a 8oz gatorade to refill and drank that on my way to labcorp. I got there at around 10:05 waited about 10 minutes. When I did take the test I was holding it for abit because there was a wait so when I did go man did it flow I used midstream waited 3 seconds before actually going into the cup, but my pee was very neon greenish. The tech basically took half of the sample and poured it into a vial while dumping out the rest (As i read the other posts I know this is pretty standard). My employer said they would get back to me after 3-5 days I'm starting to get nervous and would like some advice on how to confront this. Should I wait till monday and give my employer a call because I don't want to call labcorp and act all sketchy I'd rather call my employer and see what the hold up was (less suspicious I think) or do you think paranoia has gotten the best of me and just to wait it out and see if they call me back?

Don't ask for the results!

You're presumed clean by the employer, and you need to act accordingly. If you haven't used, there would be no reason for you to ask, right?

There is the possibility that if you tested hot, they would just drop your application and not tell you, of course. If you don't hear anything within a few weeks, I would assume you didn't get the job.

At that point, you could call and just ask a vague question, like "What's going on?"

Thanks for your response. I was going to try to act like why is it taking so long for me to get my start date and not really ask about results play it like I'm clean and sober, but I'll give it a few more days before calling. If I do test positive though would the lab call me and let me know that atleast?

My main concern really is the 708008 that was written down underneath the 7994525 could anyone tell me what this means if it does mean anything at all?

I have no clue, unless the tech did an instant test and this is the expiration date of the instant test???

Thanks for the reply sec. I don't think it was an instant test, because on the chain of custody form the one they gave me it said it was being delivered to L CA. It wasn't a split specimen either. I'm just getting paranoid because I know for probation no news is good news, but with probation you usually get the results right after you take the test that is if you fail the eye scan test first. I just don't know how pre-employments really work this is my first one that i've taken for a job. They said that they would get back to me within 3-5 days its almost about to be 5 days if you include the weekend. Speaking of which I know from earlier posts that you made that labs do work on weekends, but does the HR for the employer also work on the weekends or should I just be including business days only. When I actually looked at the chain of custody the step1 section has the employer name and then the MRO name Choicepoint MRO services. Also will labcorp mail the results to the MRO first then the MRO sends it to the HR of my employer or do they just send it to both? I was not the only person to be hired there at the same time I think roughly 4-5 people were also "hired" so do they try to do release all the results at a similar time. Just trying to think of reasons why it would be taking abit long other then the obvious.

I quoted your first post, then added paragraphs so I could actually keep your account of the test straight in my head. When you type without paragraphs, it is very difficult for me to read.

From the sounds of it, you drank approximately 50 ounces of fluid prior to your test (in the two hours prior). You took an at home test about 40 minutes prior to testing, after beginning the dilution, which was negative.

Given that information, I would say there is a good possibility that you passed the test. Now the reason it could be taking a long time, is that companies only have at most, 2 or 3 people who can actually go in to retrieve results. If one or mor of those people are on vacation, leave or just called in sick a few days, then it could seriously slow down the time frame you have outlined here. Give it some more time. In employment tests, you know you passed when you get a start date or actually get to work long enough to get a paycheck.

If you didn't pass, they might never call you. Frustrating, I know, but that is how it is in employment testing. Have a bit more patients.

Sorry for the big wall of text. You got it all right and are very knowledgable and helpful, this site would be nowhere without people like you and I commend you even if its not always what people want to hear . Though for me your reassurance has put me to ease.

I was a bit worried that I might have over diluted and would cause a negative-dilute and since I don't know how they take that I was very nervous. I'll wait it out and I think they do only have 2 people who can access the results like you said the general manager and the lady who contacted me to schedule my interviews.

I'll post my results if I do hear anything or if I don't. If I could do it all over I would have just subbed so I could have that peace of mind.

passed I did call them asking when orientation was and they called me back.
