| I'm planning on doing the substitution method with a friend's urine and got a quick question. I intend on keeping the sample warm in some hot water on the way to the test. I've practiced a few times and this warms the sample to above 100 degrees. My question is, can a sample get too warm so it ruins it somehow? For example, if my sample got up to 110 degrees or whatever, would it ruin it resulting in the testing site claiming it is not valid even if when they collect it it has cooled down to between 90 - 100 degrees? Or does it not matter how hot it gets, as long as it is in the 90 - 100 degree range when they collect it. |

| How would a collector know if the urine was too hot at one point in time? I have no idea if getting urine upwards of 110 degrees "ruins" it, but if the specimen registers 90 - 100 degrees when it is collected, it is going to the lab (if it is a lab test). |
