| First of all Thank you for this site and all of the users who share their knowledge and advice.I started breathing easier after the first hour of reading. Now I have some questions that I hope can be answered however any input is welcome. I do not mind crotching a bottle of QF daily at my upcoming job because it's a small price to pay to be able to have my evenings the way I enjoy them.As long as I am not hurting anyone what I do when off work is none of anyones business imho. Ok here's one of my biggest concerns.I will be working out in the elements.Temps could be as low as 30 degrees or as high as 100. They also have a testing facility on site. With that said I could go from working to a test within 10 mins or so.This seriously shakes my confidence on the sub method (which I feel is the best thing for me) because how would I control the temps? I have been testing and I've pulled my QF out of my tighty whities and the guage didn't show because it was overheated. So now some months of the year I'd actually have to cool it down.Any suggestions or rates of cooling? I will continue to test on my own in different environments, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask u guys about it as well.I have read alot here and will continue to so forgive me if cooling QF and/or maintaining daily temps in a changing environment has been discussed. I'll quit if I have to,but I have heard of so many successes that I thought I'd consider subbing if it can be done for my circumstances. Thanks for your time. |

| When called for a urine test, you have 3 hours to produce a specimen. In that three hours, you can sit inside, read a magazine while your cooled specimen warms up. Too hot? blow on it and swirl it. It should only take a few minutes. There is no way you can get your specimen much warmer than 10 degrees over the maximum from crotching it. |

| Sounds like an alcoholic. Wait until you get home, and really enjoy. Especially since you're working out in the elements. Being high is never comfortable when you laboring in the elements. Especially if you're "crothing" urine.

| From reading these boards I have learned that N2 and Sec seem to know their stuff so I am trusting your knowledge here. This is all new to me.I have never been prescreened, but then again I've never had an opportunity this good. Hmm 3 hours...u sure mate?It would make sense. They have to give me notice because even if I was clean I couldn't provide a sample on call.If that's true it would sure make me feel alot better. Is there a chance it could vary from workplace to workplace or is that like a law? I am getting sent to the lab for the first prescreen and that one doesn't worry me.It's the testing facility on site and random tests that has me contemplating just giving it up altogether. Thanks again.I appreciate the feedback. Mish-I have never brought anything with me to work nor have I ever smoked before or during so I'm lost with your post.As it said in my previous post- "evenings".I'm off the clock therefore straight as an arrow when it comes to AT WORK.Some people work evenings so I can see where u might've got confused. Wouldn't want to anyway.I work high in the air sometimes and I couldn't imagine being even buzzed in that environment. |

| It is regulation for DOT regulated tests, and protocol for Non-DOT testing. (The 3 hours thing). |

| Doubtful that outside temps would affect a crotched sample unless you sat on a block of ice. If too high, it should cool down to under 100 once exposed to the air and some blowing on the cup. I have experience. If you keep the sample crotched you should be in the mid 90s whenever they call you to test. It doesn't take long to cool off a sample. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions about preparation for randoms. ![]() Quote:
