stupidtests

i thought i'd post this in hopes it's helpful to someone. here's what happened. FYI, i take prescription adderall so expected a "problem" and knew i'd have to talk to an mro.

on 6/2 i went for a drug test and submitted my specimen. the tech appeared not sure of what she was doing, maybe she was new or it was her first escreen sample, but she asked for help a couple times and just seemed confused by the whole thing. she didn't split the specimen, asked me to sign & i went on my way.

6/9 work called to say i needed to go submit another specimen as the lab didn't collect enough. my instincts told me i failed & this was my opportunity to fix it, but i didn't act on it, i just went & gave another specimen, first thing in the morning, like an idiot. UGH! there was a different tech this time, he split the specimen, i signed everything & left.

a few days later, work called & told me i was not to return to work until i spoke with the mro. in the morning, work called to ask if i had spoken with mro. i had not, so she gave me the number & i called. mro told me i was positive for amphetamines & marijuana, asked if i had smoked in past few months or did i have a prescription for marinol (sp?) then said he'll report his findings to my work. i was terminated about 20 seconds later.

here's the weird part, at least i thought it was weird. AFTER being terminated b/c of drug test on 6/9, i rec'd call from mro about my 6/2 test, which was also positive for marijuana & amphetamines. i advised mro i had already been terminated from that company & we said goodbye.

so, the moral of the story is, if you're given the oppty to give another sample, DO SOMETHING before going submitting 2nd specimen. i can't believe i had oppty to fix the problem and didn't do it. i guess it's some sick kind of self sabotage problem i have, as i had an amazing job making TONS of $$ with unbelievable benefits and i blew it. part of the reason i didn't do anything prior to testing is that i passed my drug test the year before w/o any real preparation, when my older brother, in the medical field, said the drug tests don't test for marijuana, just the other drugs. WRONG!
