stupidtests

are there any "guidelines" companies use regarding people who use stall tactics to delay taking test? i rec'd paperwork from potential employer last monday, but said i didn't get it til tuesday. then i went out of town for rest of week on vacation. (major stall tactic so i could have some time to figure what to do) friday the potential emp. left voicemail wondering if i had taken drug test yet & asking about paperwork i was supposed to fax in. i didn't fax paperwork in b/c i thought once i did that they'd really want me to take the test.

part of me thinks the potential emp. doesn't care about that, they just want the commission for placing me in a position.....then i get paranoid & think they're not going to work with me b/c i haven't faxed paperwork or done test yet.....i told potential emp i was very eager to start working again, but wanted to take a quick trip before starting another job. they seemed to understand. i guess. any thoughts?

Well obviously they wouldnt be rude with you and ask you to start straight away. They have a company image to look after and want to portray that they are "understanding" and "flexible". Although a company/ employer looks at the drug tests as necessary procedures that need to be fullfilled in line with the company policies.

I doubt they will make any exemption in your case. So you will have to take the test sooner or later. And I doubt they will let you start work withought fullfilling all the recuirtment requirements/documents.

I suggest you worry more about how to pass the test. Delaying is an option but you have used it already. You ought to think about the various options available to you in order to pass the test such as : dilution, substitution, synthetic urine.

Detox dont work!! If anything they will be detected in your urine test if it is a GC/MS test. Read posts on dilution and substitution. Dont worry the employer wont rule you out because you havent done the urine test. But if you keep delaying it then you could be in trouble and raise doubts. Its not too late yet...

thanks! i just wanted reassurance that my stall tactics thus far weren't a red flag for the company.

wish me luck with dilution. i'm on my way to return the sonne 7 the person at health food store talked me into instead of the creatine.....i NEVER eat red meat b/c i don't like it, so i guess i better buy creatine & take it. also going to buy some power ade.

The drug screen is but one part of your pre-hire paperwork process. Although dodging them on that may not necessarily be THE red flag, you're not going to make a favorable first impression by delaying the return of requested fax paperwork, etc. At some point, you can bet that they will wonder just how badly you actually want the job.

They're obviously being somewhat patient right now, so I take that as a good sign for you. However, if I were you, I would worry less about delay for the sake of delay, and start getting your head/act together on how you're going to BEAT the test.
