Hey everybody -
My first post here. Been reading a lot, but decided to post my own story here.

Have a form I'm supposed to take to Quest, I'll be taking the 6633N SAP 10-50 GC/MS. Luckily I knew it was coming so I stopped in advance. I could take it tomorrow if I want (which will be 35 days off) or put it off another 6 days tops (41 days off). I'm pretty fit, good metabolism. I eat somewhat well and hike occasionally. And before my full-on abstinence started, I went 1 week off, had one session, another 6 days off, then on a trip to my hometown I puffed 5 out of 7 days there. After that, been clean since. So in May I probably smoked like 15 days tops, stopping after May 21st. Been clean since, and like I said, today is day 34 (June 24th). I'm feeling pretty good about being below the 50 ng/mL level, but I'm worried about being tested lower (the test is for a nursing school, in conjunction with a bunch of hospitals). How common is this? Should I just say forget it and go in, feeling pretty confident about being below 50 ng/mL, or what? Will they NOT do the GC/MS confirmation if I pass the first level? Also, how much do you have to drink for a test to come back dillute? I don't want to drink too much, but I don't want to just give them a super-concentrate sample either. My friends tell me I'm just being paranoid at this point but this is extremely important to me. I've already decided to pack away the vapo for the next few years just to be safe (subject to randoms). But this first one is very important. Any help or words of advice would be much appreciated!

Oh, 4 days ago I passed a home test with a faint line that's registered at 50 ng/mL, and 2 days ago I tried again with the morning's first piss and I passed that as well with a faint line.

You ARE being paranoid. Just pee normally and you should be fine. It isn't common at all for employers to test lower than 50 ng/mL. Especially medical industry. They test and know the least of any other industry regarding drug testing.

I think that your fat cells reach a certain point of THC saturation that can't really be surpassed. If you smoke once a day, I think it will take you just as long to get clean as if you smoked 6 times a day. Thinking out loud...

Question for SEC:

I recently got pretty sick and my doc put me on Azithormycin, which has codeine in it. If I go in and take the test, is the codeine going to flag a confirmation test for EVERYTHING even though I show them the prescription? I know my THC level is safely below 50 (It's been 37 days, would have had it done but now I'm sick as hell), but what level of THC is "Passable" vs "non-passable" if these antibiotics are going to flag a possible gc/ms test? Thanks, you rock!

Be honest and take the test. Drink 20 ounces of sports drink 1-1/2 hours prior to your test. You won't be overly diluted, but any THC that might be in your system (and I don't think there will be) should fall below the cutoff level even for the GC/MS confirmation test.

Don't take your prescription with you to the collection. IF anything is detected as a banned substance on your drug test, a doctor (MRO) will call you to discuss it. Anyone else falls outside HIPAA. The collector doesn't have you sign a HIPAA notice, so she/he doesn't need to hear or see anything related to your medical condition or treatment.

Just pee in a cup for them, sign where required and get outta there.

I guess azithromycin doesn't contain codeine, but it's been known to cause false positives. Does this make it easier?

Why wouldn't I want to tell them about some prescription drugs? Wouldn't that be a good idea to clear the air since I have an actual prescription in hand with my name on it?? It's pretty obvious I'm sick just looking at me and talking to me. When my class was being informed about this drug test, the "large and in charge" told us that if we're on any medications to let them know "in case anything weird shows up." I think "Them" was referring to the testing facility.

shakedownfeet, what i think (?) sec was telling you is that the collection site, Quest, doesn't care what you're on. it 's a HIPPA thing. if anything shows up the doctor/mro will call you & ask if you're on any meds, then you tell him the Rx # on the bottle & that's it. at least that's been my experience with drug tests. i take adderall so always come up with amphetamines in my system & the mro always calls. if you want to tell anybody, you can tell whoever is paying for the test, they're the only ones "privileged" via HIPPA to know that info. in the past, if i'm doing a pre-employment test, i let my recruiter know that i'm on adderall & will test positive, just so they don't freak out when the results come back. but again, the techs at the lab don't really care. as sec said, go in, leave your tee tee for them, sign the form & leave. oh, also, be NICE to everybody. if you're a jerk, they can call your "large & in charge" & tell them about it.

Took my test on Tuesday, day 41 of "operation cleanout." 3rd pee of the day, after lunch and a vitamin, which I take every day, so it was a bright yellow, no way they'll tell me it was dillute. They didn't ask about any meds (I was on some antibiotics, the only source of my paranoia). In the 6 days leading up to the test, I spent 5 on my couch eating lots, drinking tons of fluids, Naked Juice, Emergen-C, because I was sick. Then the day before the test, I was well and spent about 12 hours on my feet at work. I hope that one day of exercise wouldn't cause a huge spurt in THC output. My heart is nervous as heck, but my brain tells me I'm OK. When should I feel that I'm in the clear if I haven't heard from anybody? I know the sample was sent via courrior, to a city about an hour away, and the test was around noon.
