When the HR lady called me she said I'd be taking a drug screen, but did not specify. She did however tell me to bring a list of medications that I'm taking.

Would it most likely be a urine test? When I took a hair test last year they never asked for a list of meds.

With the information you received it's hard tell. Meds show up in hair and urine tests.

It is unusual to be told to bring a list of meds. Unless she doesn't know what she is talking about. HR where I work thinks hair tests go back a year.

Unless the HR person is a pharmacist or physician, there is no reason for you to bring a list of medications. If I were you, I would write your medications down and keep the list in your purse.

IF they have a doctor on staff who is performing the drug test specimen collection, then give the list to him. Anyone else does not need to know your medical history - at all. Only a doctor or pharmacist can tell for sure if a given medication in a certain dosage will test positive for any part of the drug test.

Drug testing is not a violation of your privacy. Asking for your medical history or medications is a violation of your privacy.

Actually I have to go to a clinic at the hospital that does pre-employment physicals and drug screens. The HR lady has nothing do with it, those were just the instructions given to her to give to me from the testing site.

I've seen it where you have to declare ahead of time any medications you've taken in the past week, and that was usually for piss.

I thought it might be some indication of what kind of test it is going to be. I know next to nothing about my future employer or their policies, except that they will be my bread and butter if I pass. I even went on there website. Couldn't find anything.

Google "companies that drug test" and see if your company is listed using one of the sites that come up.
