So I got a new job offer and they are having me take a drug test on tuesday the 29th of july (3 days). I am a 21 year old male, about 6'2'' and 180ish pounds. I smoked last weekend and previously before that infrequently for a few weeks. I have been eating healthy, not drinking alcohol, and drinking lots of water for the last 6 days and I am very worried about passing the test. I went out and bought a vale's triple strength detox kit from the headshop a couple days ago and I wasn't quite sure how to use it. The directions say to drink the bottle then fill it up with water and drink that within 30 minutes, I did that and puked it all up within an hour. hahahaha. So today I went out and bought another one, but now I'm questioning exactly how it works. If I drink it will I be detoxed from there on afterwards, or only for a few hours after that? Should I drink it today, or the day of my test? I'm going to continue drinking lots of water and eating healthy until I reach a verdict from you guys on how I should use this detox kit. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Take the kit back and get your money back.

IF you aren't to be tested for more than a month, then you can just simply stop using pot and you should be able to test negative without any artificial means or treatments.

At about the 25th of August or so, take a home test using your first pee of the morning. If you pass that (and you should), you will be good to test for any employer.

I just looked at the calendar and the 29th of August is on a Friday. I believe you meant the 29th of July; 3 days from now.

If that is the case, get a home test and test yourself. Don't drink anything from the time you read this until you purchase the test kit and test yourself. If you get a negative, then you can pass the employers test with drinking a little sports drink. If you don't pass, then you need to look into either trying dilution or substitution.

I'm apoligize for posting a commercial link. And yes you are right My test is on the 29th of July, 3 days from now. So I should take the kit back? Where can is a good place to buy a home test kit? I really don't want to fail this as it will mean I won't get the job, and it will probably will look bad for the friend that works there that I used as a reference.

Alright so I took the home test and it came out negative. The test line was pretty faint but it said in bold that even if it is faint that still means its negative. So I should be good to go right? And just drink like a 20oz gatorade or something about 90 minutes before my test? Also bad news is that the headshop won't take back my detox kit so I've wasted 100$ on that shit. But I guess if I pass my test and get a new job it will be worth it in the end.

Now, when you get the job, look through the employment policy carefully. If it mentions anywhere about random testing, post accident testing, reasonable cause testing... don't smoke until you talk to some coworkers and find out if the company actually drug tests or not.

Day before drink at least a half gallon of water, urinate throughout the day. Try not to work out or loose fat, for that will cause more THC to get into your blood stream. Then day before the test drink wake up and make sure you urinate. Drink about a half gallon more of water and take a couple asprin. When you go to take the test make sure you urinate into the toilet first (has a lot of THC) then into the cup MID STREAM of your urine, then the last part in the toilet.

A half a gallon will get you a diluted result. Drinking fluids in the days prior to a drug test does nothing what-so-ever to help. There is no need to use a midstream portion of your void, you aren't taking a test for infection. You are taking a drug test.

The only reason doctors have you pee midstream is so the first part of your urine can wash away any dirt or impurities on the skin of your genetalia. Not necessary for a drug test as they aren't testing for dirt.

Drink normally throughout the day, then 90 minutes prior to test time, drink 20 ounces of sports drink. Forget aspirin or anything else, you don't need it. Pee when you need to during the day.

I was thinking seeing as how I already bought the detox kit, and I am unable to return it. Would it be a good idea to use it anyways? And if so, what is the proper way to use the detox drink?

Well, do not follow the directions printed on the label.

If you insist on using that vitamin laden sugar water, then substitute the quantity of fluid in the detox drink ounce for ounce with the sports drink.

There is no magic in the drink. It is simply water, with vitamins dissolved in it, creatine added, sugar, flavoring, etc... You paid about $3 an ounce for vitamin water.

You really would be better off with a sports drink like Powerade, Gatorade, etc. Those drinks have electrolytes in them that will help maintain specific gravity.

The problem with the drinks sold in head shops is that they instruct you to drink so much water afterwards that you come up with a dilute result. That may or may not pass, depending on the employer's criteria. Some employers accept it, some reject it, still others make you re-test.

It is best to obtain a negative result the first time you test.
