I have been lurking on this website for the past 10 days trying to figure out the best way to pass my upcoming "pre-employment" drug screen. I am thinking of using substitution and diluting as a back-up method. I found out on July 19th that I will have a drug screen for my new job. Luckily, I found this out from a friend of a friend. My job has not contacted me yet in reagrds to this but that's probably because I haven't even filled out any paperwork yet. I will be completing paperwork either later this week or at the beginning of next week. I have been clean for the past 10 days but my at home drug test strips are showing a positive unless I dilute. Today, I was able to get a negative test after drinking a medium iced coffee from McD's and a 1/2 bottle of gatorade. I was taking a 7-day detox but decided to discontinue after reading all of the very helpful info on this sight. Okay, now for my question. Is it possible for me to use substitution if my test is during a physical? I have heard that the physical is very basic and the drug screen may not even occur during the physical. The friend of the friend that I referred to earlier did not get tested at the physical but was told 2 weeks later that she needed to go to the lab for a screen. If that's the case, I should be able to get clean prior to my test but I want to be prepared for it in case I do get tested during the physical. The physical is at the health department and I am not even sure if they are equipped to give drug tests. A little bit about me....
I am 5'10", 175 lbs; moderate metabolism (have lost 39.6 lbs in the past 6 months which increased my metabolism drastically). I last smoked on July 18th. Prior to quitting, I smoked daily (2-3 bowls a day) of good stuff. Any suggestions/support would be much appreciated!! I am over the initial shock and KNOW that I can beat this!!

I think you would be better off diluting. You could probably pass pretty easily with only 1/2 the substitution called for in the stickied thread.

By test time, you should be pretty close to testing negative with normal intake of fluids. You say 1/2 bottle of gatorade, but gatorade comes in several size bottles. It would help if you had been just a bit more specific.

If you drank 40 ounces of fluid over the immediate 3 hours prior to your test, you would not test dilute and any physical they gave you would be just fine (if they tested urine for anything else besides drug testing.)

You could get by with even less fluid and be just fine. What I recommend, is if they ask you to take a drug test at the same time as your physical, ask to pee. Tell them you anticipated the drug test and haven't gone to the restroom for quite a while now and really need to soon.

They will probably let you do that part of the pre-employment testing first, then you can continue with the physical. You can pee with your own urine and not have to worry about a sub.

You are so close to testing negative naturally now. Give it a couple more days.

I have read tons of your posts in the past few days and I think you must be an amazing person to read all of these posts and respond with such useful information. I was really hoping that you would be the one to respond to my question. Sorry about not being specific enough about the Gatorade....the bottle was 32oz so I drank about 16 oz's (in addition to the iced coffee). I am going to continue to test myself daily and hope that I will be negative by the time I test so that I can use my own pee with just a little dilution. I should be receiving my paperwork tomorrow which should tell me how long I have to get my physical. I am sure I will be back tomorrow to check-in. Thanks again!!!

P.S. My "Quick Fix" arrived today which has put my mind a little more at ease just in case!

Got my paperwork in the mail and it is very specific that I have to have a physical exam which includes a drug screen. There are no details listed on the page but it does say that when I go into the main office they will give me the paperwork to take to the physical/drug screen so that the physician can sign off on it. The depatrment will be scheduling my test for me so I have no say in when and where I can go (I must go to their approved vendor). I sent an email to the head of personnel and fed her some BS about having stuff to do all week in hopes that I can put my paperwork off and therefore my physical and drug test until next week. I haven't heard back from her yet but she really likes me and even recommended me for the position so it probably won't be an issue. Now I am just concerned because I got on Baptistworx website which says they offer EKG's and x-rays which makes me nervous since I planned on keeping the QuickFix in my bra which I won't be able to do if I have to remove my bra for the EKG or put on a gown for an xray? Would it sound fishy if I called Baptsitworx and explained to them that doctor's make me extremely nervous and I am just wanting to know what to expect?? I really cannot fail this test...I will lose everything...my job and my house if I fail. I have been smoke free for 12 days and still testing positive. I read something on another forum where a guy was still able to use QuickFix to pass his physical and drug test but he had to be very careful because he kept his tighty-whities on after they told him to change into a gown for the urine test. I thought about telling them that I am on my period and only wear pads in which case I would be able to keep on my undies. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance!!
